What Bence from Barnag says:

Kékfrankos is the most important red variety in our region. This is no wonder, as it has many faces and reflects the Balaton-Upland’s terroir quite precisely. This year's kékfrankos is the most colourful we have ever made. The grapes come from 2 vineyards that couldn’t be more different: the volcanic Hegyestű on the edge of the Kali-Basin and the limestone-heavy Király-domb vineyard in Pécsely, from a total of three different harvest dates stretching from early September to 1st of October. The combination of different processing methods is as diverse as the origin of the grapes. Whole bunch maceration with both untouched and foot stomped grapes, a substantial amount of direct pressed juice and destemmed berries with semi-short skin fermentation. One of a total of 9 barrels was aged under flor to further deepen the expression. After one year ageing on the lees bottled unfiltered, unfined and with no addition of SO2.
