This is a Gewürztraminer that evokes "Cries & Whispers" and "Two Colors: Orange 2021", harmoniously positioned between these two expressions. I wanted to rediscover fluidity and drinkability while maintaining that saline, elongated finish that characterizes my work. The blend combines half 2023 Gewürztraminer, half 2024 Gewürztraminer, with a touch of Pinot Gris. The wine comes from the same clay-limestone parcel over two contrasting vintages: a warm year balancing a cool year. Harmony and emotion are undeniably present – the professionals and enthusiasts who came to taste at the cellar this year served as valuable cobaye.
The name of this cuvée: "Stupor & Trembling". I know that Amélie Nothomb borrowed this title from our Japanese friends, but I particularly love this expression, and the wine pays it perfect homage.
