We rented a guesthouse with a pool for this harvest = we drank too much = I (almost) lost the key to the truck = we (almost) were too late for the next morning’s harvest.
the watermelon we cracked for a snack in the vines turned out to be white inside which was disappointing, certainly after the triumph of opening it with a spoon.

The Xarrel-Lo was (hand) de-stemmed for no reason other than I’d already borrowed a de-stemmer from Aurelien and wanted to use it and that’s how we learn.

We said no to a late lunch at Villemas which we passed on the way back because I thought we shouldn’t be sitting around for hours with grapes in the truck and in the end we sat in 4h of traffic with the grapes in the truck.

Both Xarel-Lo and Macabeau were macerated together for 7 days because this the time the Estrella cans we brought back ran out.

Dead cat strategy is a political term I like the sound of. I am pro cats.
