Tour de France 2022 Set

We are releasing a very special, very limited edition package of highlights from our France trip in March, some of which have already sold out or were not available as individual bottles at all. (Hot tip: if you want a package, read to the very end!)

We started our tour in Alsace, where we met the pleasant character Eric Kamm. After a bunch of fresh Rieslings and Pet Nats, he showed us his 2019 S nature, a Silvaner aged sous voile for two years in a 500l barrel – a style of wine better known from the Jura. A first Highlight of the trip!

That same evening, after a little detour to Germany, we had dinner with Christoph Wolber and some friends at Wasenhaus. At one point the neighbour joined: Johannes Kolonko. He was very generous and showed us his range of incomparable spirits. We are very happy to now have a beautiful selection of his bottles in the shop – and his Obstler in this package.

The next day we spent in Bourgogne and met Morgane and Kristian at their Domaine Dandelion. We tasted some Pinot Noirs and Aligotes and were lucky enough to pick up some Pinot Noir/Gamay Pet Nat, which of course we have to put in this sixer.

New day, new region: Jura. We met Katie Worobeck from Maison Maenad for dinner and had a great barrel tasting in her cellar. Her 2020 De l'avant Chardonnay from the famous Les Varrons plot is our next Highlight for you. It’s a great wine not only because Christoph was there one day for harvest ;-)

One main reason we made this trip was to visit the character winemaker Jean-Pierre Robinot at his winery. After tasting a lot of his unique Chenins, 2019 L’Iris was still spectacular. A powerful, timeless and balanced "Grand Terroir" Chenin Blanc (90 year old plot) with Jean-Pierres very own signature.

A day later, we had the big pleasure of meeting Jerôme Saurigny in Rochefort-sur-Loire. You never had one of his wines in the glass? Don't worry, neither have we, until this day. Almost all of his small production goes to South Korea and Japan (of course). After a great, long evening with lots of very impressive wines and lots of energy, we took a very small amount of bottles home with us. We would like to share with you 2020 Réclair, a red cuvée of Grolleau, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Gamay.
